The Lock Inn is lucky enough to be situated amongst some of the best tourist attractions and most beautiful countryside in the Midlands. The West Midlands Safari Park is only four miles away and the famous Severn Valley Railway is just a short drive from our pub. Not only are we close to some great attractions we are also located on the historic Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal and within walking distance of some spectacular sites of natural interest such as Bondenham Arboretum and Kinver Edge. The Lock Inn is the perfect place to start or finish your walk and enjoy some well earned refreshment.

Bodenham Arboretum Bodenham Arboretum offers a spectacular 156 acres of mature woodland, specimen trees and shrubs and two acres of lakes and pools. A beautiful garden for you to walk and enjoy, it is especially lovely in the autumn as the leaves change colour. Located in the Arboretum is also a working farm and visitor centre for refreshments.

West Midland Safari Park For animal lovers the West Midland Safari Park is a must visit! Voted ‘Most Popular Tourist Attraction in the West Midlands’ by parents and children from around the area, their pride of white African lions is a must see as these majestic creatures are rarely seen in the wild.

Mini Pro Golf Right next door is a 18 hole pro mini golf course complete with raised tees and bunkers. Golf clubs and balls are available for hire and if it rains you get a free return game!

Kinver Edge Kinver Edge offers dramatic views  of the surrounding area with heathland walks to suit all abilities and fitness levels. The Holy Austin rock houses which were carved into the sandstone ridge and inhabited until 1950 are also open to visitors at selected times of the year.

Drakelow Tunnels Originally used as a military base in WII Drakelow Tunnels are said to be haunted by the ghosts of people who died during their construction. Now you can visit the tunnels during organised ghost walks where eager ghost hunters can try and experience some paranormal activity.

Severn Valley Railway The Severn Valley railway runs between Kidderminster and Bridgenorth in Shropshire following the River Severn’s course through picturesque countryside. You can board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile meandering journey through the outstanding Worcestershire countryside to Bridgenorth. The Severn Valley regularly has special events taking place such as their extremely popular 1940s weekend or Santa Steam Special, details of these events can be found on their website as well as tickets prices and opening times.

Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal We are located right on the historic Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal which provided important trade links for Kidderminster and the surrounding area. There are many beautiful walks to be enjoyed along the towpath especially as the river Stour runs alongside creating some important wetland habitat for many endagered species of wildlife.

Wolverley Campsite If you are looking for somewhere to stay during your visit to the area then the Wolverley Camping and Caravanning  Clubsite is an excellent choice. It is located adjacent to The Lock Inn on Wolverley Road and provides everything you could need during your stay.
