Classic Afternoon Tea the Old Smithy Tearoom

We’re delighted to announce that the Old Smithy Tearoom is now serving Afternoon Tea’s*

 

The Lock Inn, Wolverley and the Old Smithy tearoom is famous for it’s freshly made, locally sourced and delicious food. Our brand new Afternoon Tea’s are no exception. With a selection of finger sandwiches stuffed to the brim with a variety of fillings and topped of with a selection of miniature cakes and desserts and then to finish scones, jam and (of course!) cream. This really is a filling and delicious treat.

A classic Afternoon Tea is completed with an classic pot of English Breakfast tea and all for £15 per person. Or, how about pushing the boat out and enjoy a glass of prosecco with our Prosecco Afternoon Tea for just £20 per person.

 

Over at the Old Smithy tearoom we can happily host parties of up to 10 people. There’s no better way than getting together and enjoying the cosy comfort of the tearoom surrounded by the lovely garden and the canal – a stunning location at any time of the year. If you’re a larger party just let us know. We’re always happy to look at hosting large Afternoon Tea parties over at the Lock Inn, either in the cosy lounge or in the attractive and quirky Cowshed Restaurant.

 

Because our food is freshly made and you’re pre-booking please let us know of any food allergies or dietary requirements we need to be aware of when preparing your food.

 

*Pre-booking with a minimum of 24 hours notice is required to ensure we can cater for your party with all of our delicious, homemade treats.

We’re helping you enjoy a decadent last night of 2018 with a an amazing seven-course dinner. Kicking off the celebrations with some fizz and amuse bouche we then get to enjoy a feast filled with locally sourced dishes and amazing freshly made food. Roast Rib of Bishop’s Beef with a Cherry & Port Reduction – Slow roasted beef rib, thickly sliced with a creamy potato puree, seasonal veg & a rich, velvety cherry & port reduction.

 

Red Mullet En Papillote – Red mullet fillets cooked en papillote with Mediterranean vegetables & spices. Served with dauphinoise potato.

 

Mushroom, Garlic & Spinach Biriyani – Authentic Indian biriyani with wild mushroom, garlic & spinach. Accompanied with homemade mango chutney & naan bread.

 

Dessert

Lemon Panna Cotta with Blackberry & Honey Madelienes – A light, creamy lemon panna cotta accompanied by delicious homemade madelienes.

 

Chocolate Delice With A Chocolate Orange Fritter – Delightfully light chocolate pudding with a dark chocolate & Cointreau fritter.

 

Tarte Tatin With Toffee Crème Anglais – Dark, sticky caramelised apples fill a crisp puff pastry case & served with a sweetened toffee Crème Anglais.
